Why Club Volleyball?

New to the sport? Here's what club volleyball is — and why families choose it.

What Is Club Volleyball?

Club volleyball is organized, competitive volleyball played outside the school system. Players join a club, try out for a team, and compete in tournaments through the season — all sanctioned by USA Volleyball (USAV) and, here in Colorado, the Rocky Mountain Region (RMR).

Teams practice multiple times a week and travel to local, regional, and sometimes national tournaments. It's widely considered the primary pathway for athletes who want to develop advanced skills and play in college.

Why Play Club?

Club is where players make their biggest jumps. The coaching, training intensity, and level of competition run higher than school or rec play — and the season fills the months school ball doesn't, so athletes train year-round.

It's also the recruiting pipeline: college coaches evaluate almost entirely at club tournaments and showcases. Beyond the court, players build discipline, teamwork, and friendships in a community built around their growth.

Why Colorado Boom?

We're different. Fundamentals and biomechanics come first. A dedicated training center built for the sport. A culture that prioritizes the player's journey above everything.

  • Biomechanics-first coaching from top Colorado club coaches
  • Family-friendly practice times — 5–7:30 PM, no late practices
  • Three practices per week — more reps, more touches
  • Consistent schedule — one location, predictable evening practice times
  • Year-round indoor and outdoor programs
  • Drop-in play included for all club members
